Introducing the New DermaDNA test

October 20, 2008

DID YOU KNOW YOUR SKIN CANCER RISK IS QUANTIFIABLE?

Did you know that up to 90 percent of the visible changes commonly attributed to aging are caused by the sun and only a quarter of that exposure occurs before age 18?

Melanoma is the second most common form of cancer for young adults 15-29 years old.

Exposure to tanning beds before age 35 increases melanoma risk by 75 percent.

The survival rate for patients whose melanoma is detected early (before it has reached the lymph nodes) is about 99 percent. The survival rate falls to 15 percent for those with advanced disease.

New high-pressure sunlamps emit doses of UVR that can be as much as 12 times that of the sun.

We are introducing the new DermaDNA test!

A simple swab of the mucosa of the mouth can tell you your risk of skin cancer!

The derma DNA test not only assesses damages already done by the sun, but it also categorizes a person by skin type, and can determine whether or not a person possesses other variants that may also be significant risk factors.

Call Dr Alastair or Dr Jean’s offices for more information and to schedule an appointment for your test.
