Lumenis 1064 Nd:YAG
Lumenis Nd:YAG is a laser used to treat facial blood vessels. Lumenis Nd:YAG technology offers a longer, near infrared wavelength (1064nm) where light penetration into tissue reaches its maximum depth where stubborn blood vessels lie. Nd:YAG technology allows for effective treatment of facial blood vessels and certain vascular lesions.
Lumenis' Nd:YAG technology works by selectively heating blood vessels of different sizes and depths. The longer wavelength of light and pulsing characteristics of the system allow the energy to be virtually invisible to the epidermal melanin, thus protecting the skin and allowing treatment of all skin types and tanned skin. Normally only a few pulses of the laser are required to achieve complete closure and sealing of the vessels. Once the vessels are sealed, the body will gradually remove them and their appearance will be lightened or diminished altogether. Treating blood vessels in this manner may require more than one treatment in order to fully seal the blood vessel, but some blood vessels will seal with just one treatment.
