Silicone Oil
Micro droplet silicone oil or liquid injectable silicone is used in our clinic mainly to treat HIV related facial lipoatrophy. Each injection is 1/100th of a cc in volume and the area is treated in a very tight grid so that there will be an even “lift” to the tissue after it is injected. We usually give the body one month to cover the silicone implant with a fibrous tissue matrix and then we do re-inject these individuals every month for approximately 6 months in order to give them a very permanent, natural, full response.
