Submental Liposuction

Submental Liposuction is done using tumescent local anesthesia and is used to remove collections of fat under the chin, jowl, and neck area, and it can be done alone, or in conjunction with the facelift (S-lift) or Thermage.

Submental Liposuction is a safe and effective procedure for removing fat from the cheeks, chin, jowls, and neck area. Liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss, but a procedure used to remove fat deposits that don’t respond to exercise and dieting.  Submental liposuction can be done alone, or in conjunction with the facelift (S-lift) or Thermage.

Submental Liposuction is a comfortable procedure that is done under tumescent local anesthesia. Tumescent anesthesia involves injecting a medicated solution of lidocaine(a local anesthetic) and epinephrine (a drug that contracts blood vessels) under the skin, allowing the fat to be easily removed without discomfort and with minimal blood loss. IV sedation may also be used during the procedure to promote relaxation.

Liposuction is done by inserting a small cannula with a vacuum attached, through a tiny incision made in the skin. The cannula is pushed and then pulled through the fat layer, breaking up the fat cells and suctioning them out.
